What's been happening?
It is wonderful to have the studio a hive of activity once more. Weekly classes as well as day workshops are all in full flow. But we have also been busy bees whilst the studio was closed.
|
There is now a wonderful decking area alongside the studio to give us a large outdoor seating area, perfect for lunches when taking part in workshops.
|
Inside the studio we have a beautiful bespoke work table and lead came store, and it has kept production at full steam. Away from the studio itself, we have been to craft fairs including Cheltenham and Dursley. More events are beginning to fill up the calendar. Our next fair will be back in Dursley Saturday August 7th. Read about our exciting September events in the next edition.

From the studio
Repairs and commissions have been arriving steadily in the studio and have taken us to some wonderful old properties locally.
|
The commissions took on something of an unusual theme, starting the year with Bluebell, a wonderful hot air balloon, quickly followed by not one, but three orange diggers, a tractor then bringing up the rear, a vintage land rover that headed off to a museum in Anglesey. Certainly a transport theme there!

There's lots more available from the shop, here's an update on items for sale.

Working with glass top tip
For those that create their own stained glass masterpieces: if you want to add glass nuggets to a piece, remember to grind the edges to allow the foil to stick. Roughly wrap the foil around, then pop several into a pop and shake it cocktail style. When you tip them out, they will all be perfectly burnished.
